As a Director of Health for HDR, Barbara is an internationally recognized expert in the planning and design of mental health environments, deftly balancing safety and security with a recovery oriented environment. As a leader in HDR’s mental/behavioral health practice, Barbara provides guidance and insight through award-winning project work including the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH)*, the Lutherwood Children’s Mental Health Centre*, and the Brain Sciences Centre in Toronto. Her contributions have recently been recognized in the recently published “Innovations in Behavioural Health Architecture” by Stephen Verderber. She shares her knowledge globally through conferences, publications, and academic mentorship.
