Faculty Profile:

Mr. Hengtgen joined UM in the fall of 2010 as the Assistant VP for Facilities Design & Construction, Medical Campus. Mr. Hengtgen brought his experience, leadership and design and planning abilities to the Real Estate, Facilities Design & Construction Team. Mr. Hengtgen spent over twenty years designing creative solutions for healthcare institutions as a designer and principal with a national design firm. Ed has been extensively involved in all aspects of healthcare design including replacement hospitals, ambulatory/outpatient surgery centers, outpatient treatment facilities, diagnostic centers, obstetrics/LDRP suites, medical malls and professional/medical office buildings. Mr. Hengtgen is responsible for the daily operations of the FDC team at UM’s Miller School of Medicine Campus and the multiple UM satellite medical facilities.
