Sydney Harris is the Director of Mental Health Care Redesign for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, assisting with the creation of the Austin State Hospital (ASH) Redesign led by Dell Medical School in partnership with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission including multiple public and private entities. She manages the strategic and operational initiatives that comprise the continuum of care redesign that supports the new ASH, along with supporting the program design and architectural planning on the new ASH facility. Harris has thirteen years of experience in mental health care business operations and specialty project management in the private and public sector. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ball State University and a master’s degree in health care administration from Texas Woman’s University.
