Dr Stacey ThompsonPsychologist and the SuperintendentAustin State Hospital
In this position she oversees operational and clinical direction for a 263-bed hospital serving adults, children, and several specialty populations. Dr Thompson has led her team at ASH in conceptualizing and visioning for a new kind of State Hospital, focused on person first patient care and positioned solidly within a full community continuum of care. She is providing leadership and oversight as ASH teams begin to develop transition plans and change management strategies by department and as a hospital. Dr Thompson has dedicated over 25 years to inpatient and residential settings, with a strong emphasis on children and families. She holds a bachelorâ€™s degree in psychology from the University of Texas and a Doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Denver.
