Faculty Profile:

Brian SykesHealthcare Practice Leader, Associate PrincipalPerkins+Will
Brian was twelve when he watched a geodesic dome being built by his high school carpentry class under the tutelage of a local construction company. His path forged. Fortunately for Brian, his mother was an interior designer and was happy to encourage this interest by introducing him to the world of architecture. Flash forward to his first years after graduation, and Brian was working at that same construction company as a carpenter. This experience instilled in him a respect for designs that offered real-world constructability – an appreciation that formed the foundation of his approach to architecture. Brian is currently one of Perkins&Will’s Healthcare Practice Leaders at the Washington, DC Studio. His true passion in architecture comes from program-driven institutional projects where the project team work together to conceptualize the spaces that will promote discovery or healing. He enjoys seeing his colleagues take on these challenges and exceed the client’s expectations.
