Jamie Schnick is on a mission to help spread the word about Healthcare Microgrids, that can increase resilience, minimize carbon footprints and lower annual utility costs. Jamie spent the 1st 30 years of his career designing electrical systems for several state-of-the-art Healthcare Facilities including: Camp Pendleton Hospital, Jacobs Medical Center, Scripps Prebys Cardiovascular Institute, and the Sharp Chula Vista Ocean View Tower. He also designed several fuel cell and PV projects, which are precursors to the modern Healthcare Microgrid. For the last 3 years he has been working as a Senior Electrical Engineer for HCAI. Jamie has been involved with the HBSB committees and participated in the preparation of the HCAI Healthcare Microgrid White Paper. His contributions were to the codes and standards sections of this paper. He has researched and learned a lot about on this subject and would like to share this knowledge to help promote the implementation of Healthcare Microgrids.
