Here in New England it’s smelled and felt like fall the past few mornings! That crisp, clean air that can only mean apples, leaves beginning to turn, the start of a new school year and of course it means that this year’s Symposium is right around the corner. In less than 6 weeks we will be heading to Chicago to once again come together and learn from each other.
I am really excited about our keynotes this year. You are going to get to hear from two doctors and their perspectives on the changing world of healthcare. What better way to shape how you look at your next project than to hear from clinicians on the front line. John Milne, MD, MBA, FACEP has spoken at the Symposium before as part of a panel so we are very lucky to have him back with the opportunity to spend the whole hour with him. If you have not read about Annie Brewster, MD I encourage you to do so right now. Her keynote will be sure to inspire and give you a whole new way of thinking about how we need to be treating patients. And if Dr. Milne and Dr. Brewster were not enough reasons to come to Chicago, our lineup of speakers includes other clinicians, visionary architects, researchers, engineers, contractors building some of today’s ground breaking facilities and healthcare administrators from both the government and private sector.
One of the really great things about the Symposium is that our speakers often times are part of the entire event. So not only do you have the chance to listen to them in their session but you will run into them during one of the countless networking events. They are part of the valuable connections you can make when you attend the Symposium. I’ve said it so many times in this space but the people are truly what make the Symposium so incredibly valuable to all who attend. For me it is the best part of walking into Navy Pier each year, the chance to see so many familiar faces and meet the new ones. That is why the smell of fall is so exciting because it means that time is getting closer.
