About Hajar

Hajar Ahmed is a transition & activation planning consultant and previous Lester Breslow Student Fellowship awardee with over 10 years of working experience. She currently serves as a Board member and Chair for the Health Policy and Management Alumni Association at UCLA. She previously served as a Board member for the Public Health Alumni Association for the Fielding School of Public Health. Prior to her time in California, Hajar worked for a higher education think tank on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. She has published several op-eds in major papers, contributed her research to annual reports, and developed policy briefs for legislators.

Healthcare Design Work

As a transition and activation planning consultant, Hajar works very closely with healthcare facility executives in facilitating transition and operational planning workflow sessions, Dress Rehearsal events, and patient moves. Her role as a project manager for large scale complex projects involves working with dozens of stakeholders from multiple backgrounds including planning, design, and construction. Hajar enjoys working through the unique challenges that each project presents and providing solutions that create operationally efficient, safe, and healing environments for patients, families, and staff.

Fun Fact

Hajar enjoys traveling, road trips, cooking, learning new skills, and considers herself a “foodie”. This photo represents an impromptu solo trip to Holbox, Mexico in 2023 to learn how to kite surf because why not!
