About Donna
Donna Ware is the Executive Director of Planning & Design for BJC Health System. With over 20 years of experience designing large-scale health care projects nationally and internationally, Donna joined BJC in 2008. She is responsible for oversight of all aspects of planning and design on capital projects for BJC’s 15 hospital campuses across Missouri and Illinois.
Healthcare Design Work
I have always been intrigued by how the built environment can shape human behavior. That coupled with an aptitude for organizing solutions, led me to a career in medical planning. I continue to be passionate about creating environments that can improve patient outcomes, enhance patient safety and enrich the overall patient and caregiver experience.

- Bachelor’s from Washington University in St. Louis, MO
- Master’s in Architecture from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI
- Registered Architect in the state of Missouri

I have embarked on a mission with my husband and son to visit as many National Parks as possible!
