Shehani Fernando, brings extensive planning and design leadership experience on multi-million dollar, complex, and state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient healthcare projects. Her over 15 years of healthcare planning expertise ranges from macro level master planning, needs assessments, and space programming, to micro level department and room planning. Her passion for creating efficient and functional healing environments, which can also adapt to changes in healthcare delivery methods, stems from an inner pursuit to finding healing not just for the body, but also for the mind and spirit. From project initiation through construction, she works closely with key stakeholders and lead user groups while also collaborating with consultants, equipment vendors, general contractor, Design Assist/ Design Build teams and Regulatory Agencies. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from Norwich University, Vermont.
