Avani ParikhArchitect and Planner
Avani Parikh is an architect and planner with a consulting practice in healthcare. Having worked with LSG, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and HOK, and with thirty years of architectural planning experience, Avani has a portfolio of a multitude of healthcare projects including Academic Medical Centers, Schools of Medicine, and Community Hospitals primarily in the New York tri-state area. In 1987, as a member of the India government-appointed DÃ¢â‚¬â„¢Souza Committee, Avani formulated an innovative Transfer of Development Rights proposal scheme for BombayÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Development Plan. Avani has served as the Co-Chair of the AIANY Health Facilities Committee as well as serving on the Sponsorship Committee of AIA AAH. She has served on the Program Committee of NYSHP and the Fit City 5 Initiative. Avani has written on, and taught, history and theory of healthcare, architecture, and city planning. Avani is also the Co-Author of Choice Architecture, the recipient of a Nautilus Book Award.
