Chad Connally is currently the Biocontainment and Emergency Management Program Manager for the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston. In 2014, UTMB was asked by the CDC and ASPR to become a regional treatment center for special pathogens. Mr. Connally developed protocols and assembled a team of highly qualified medical staff from across the University. Mr. Connally built his program in conjunction with the Galveston National Laboratory BSL 4 training staff. Mr. Connally also conducts readiness assessments on other treatment units in the country as a member of the National Ebola Training and Education Center (NETEC). He has been involved since it's conception of the new Biocontainment Unit (BCU) at UTMB ensuring design specifications meet the requirements to maintain staff safety and security as well as provide top notch patient care.
