Reginald E. Bannerman, RN, AAS, BON, BSN, MSN, MBA, NE-BC is the Director of Nursing and Service, Psychiatry at Children’s National Health System. He obtained his Bachelor degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and his MBA and MSN degrees in May 2003. Reginald took over the realm as the clinical manager for the Adolescent Psych Unit at Children’s National in March 2004 and subsequently Child Adolescent Unit in July 2007. He been in the Director role since 2009.


Recently, Reginald led his team on a $13M design project to renovate the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit; working with Array Architects. This project was critical in bringing the Unit practice environment to current standards and a state of art facility with modern amenities including anti-ligature and motion-detectors. Overall, Reginald has a vast wealth of knowledge in both the administrative and clinical realms. His expertise is managing aggression and violence in the inpatient and healthcare setting.  He became a board certified Nurse Executive in 2009 and a certified Crisis Prevention Intervention Trainer in 2015.
