While behavioral health care has seen a resurgence of investment in recent years, challenges still abound for the sector. Evolving care standards, changing demographics, new regulations, represent just a handful of the difficulties faced by providers in this sector today. Approximately more than 40-million adults in the US suffer from a mental health condition annually. Combating the stigma of mental illness and access to care continue to be top issues with many demographics. This session will explore strategies in facility planning that look to remove these barriers to care, and provide adults and seniors a holistic approach to healing mind, body and spirit with focus on progressive behavioral therapies.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Develop a thorough understanding of mental health patient population types
2. Recognize methodologies that hinder or enhance behavioral health
3. Learn how various unique mental health patient conditions drive the design of inpatient and outpatient care facility design
4. Demonstrate innovative clinical models that support the behavioral concept
