The Symposium heads to Austin in 2017!

 

Healthcare is one of Austin's largest and fastest-growing industries. The region is home to more than 4,200 healthcare employers. The Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is a new teaching hospital that is changing the way medical students are trained. Top hospitals in the country such as Houston Methodist Hospital, Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and Baylor University Medical Center are in Texas. Right in Austin the top 3 health systems are St. David’s HealthCare, the Seton Healthcare Family of Hospitals, and Scott & White Healthcare​.  Texas Society for Architects has over 6,500 members. Texas is one of top 3 healthcare markets in the country with more than 600 hospitals and Texas currently is second in the nation with a $15.8 billion medical pipeline.

 

And even better - there is so much to do in Austin between the legendary live music scene, the culture, the museums, the city's green spaces.  We are really excited to be visiting Austin and hope you take some time surrounding the Symposium to play and explore this great city. 

 

​6th Street is where it is at Austin in terms of the infamous live entertainment you have heard so much about!  In recent years though Rainey Street is emerging as another great destination.   

 

The Texas State Capitol is the oldest surviving state office structure and a great place to learn about Texas history and the Texas Legislature.

 

Explore Lady Bird Lake where you can hike, paddleboard, kayak or have a picnic.

 

For a whole different experience visit The Escape Game Austin ​and solve million dollar heists, decode secret service missions, and navigate through prison passageways.

 

Check out the Congress Avenue Bats! The Congress Bridge plays home to the largest urban bat colony in North America.  Each night around dusk the bats start their evening flight. It normally starts with a single bat leaving the bridge and quickly turns into a steady flow of countless bats in search of food. It’s one of those things that is truly unexplainable until you see it first hand.

 

There are countless farmers market to visit in Austin but the largest one is the SFC Farmers' Market.

 

The Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery has a tasting room and you can get a tour of the distillery.

 

Explore Zilker Park which is considered "Austin's most-loved park."

 

Austin is regularly ranked as one of the top cities in the nation for craft brewing.  Take a tasting tour of the local microbreweries such as Jester King, Hops & Grain, and Austin Beerworks.
