Healthcare Design Work
Healthcare and Real Estate have been the connecting themes throughout Ann’s professional career. She has provided strategy, planning, design, standards, way finding, and owner representation for healthcare facilities around the country. Her tenure on staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center also included healthcare operations process improvement for several service lines and teaching for the Schools of Medicine and Nursing. Healthcare real estate in the Tennessee State portfolio includes: Tennessee Department of Health, Tennessee Department of Mental Health, Tennessee State Veterans Homes, various Schools of Nursing and University of Tennessee Health Science Center; to name a few examples.
The Tennessee State Building Commission voted unanimously to appoint Ann as Tennessee State Architect. Ann is the first woman to serve Tennessee in this capacity since the position was created in 1955. The State Architect and staff serve as support for the functions of the State Building Commission and also provide oversight for all state capital projects and real estate transactions that are under authority of the State Building Commission, to assure compliance with State statutes and policies. Tennessee’s real estate portfolio includes approximately 90 million square feet with facilities in every county in the state.

I love to travel the world and have had the pleasure of visiting almost 20 countries around the world. It started with the wonderful summer vacations of my childhood when we would travel the continental US in a station wagon pulling a pop-up camper.
