Healthcare Design Work

My work covers two distinct aspects. One is providing leadership, mentorship, opportunity,  and wisdom to our global healthcare studio of some 500+ architects, designers, planners, engineers and technologists. The other is taking an active "hands-on" role in a few projects each year. These have ranged from a new hospital in Inuvik above the Arctic Circle in Northern Canada to a new 100 bed hospital on the Island of Tobago in the Caribbean. My current projects find me working on 2 new hospitals on beautiful Vancouver Island, as well as back up in the Canadian Arctic working on a new hospital in Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. These projects are exploring innovation from varying perspectives including sustainability, evidence base design to create emerging 'best practice' solutions, to alternate project delivery models including public private partnerships.
