Healthcare Design Work
Currently involved in a significant merger between the University of Arizona Health Network and Banner Health which after March 1, 2015 will be the Banner – University Medicine Division with medical centers in Phoenix and Tucson. This will involve $500M in capital projects including the development of a new hospital for the University Medical Center in Tucson and a new outpatient center at our North Campus in Tucson.
Stephen is the Director of Capital Planning & Projects for the University of Arizona Health Network (UAHN) which includes two hospitals, the Diamond Children’s Medical Center, the physician’s practice group, the health plan, the Arizona Cancer Center, Southern Arizona’s sole Trauma Center and 20 clinical properties. His experience includes hospital management for the medical center’s facilities, biomedical engineering, planning, and project management departments. Many of his projects have won awards including the first AIA/AAH Annual National Healthcare Design Award in 2008 for the Fasseas/Arizona Cancer Center in Tucson and several awards for the Diamond Children’s Medical Center which is the first comprehensive center for pediatrics in Southern Arizona.
